My trailer turn signals work well on my other vehicles. My 2006 frontier turn signals work well when no trailer is attached. When towing the trailer the signal will blink a few times the first time used. After that they will flash once and then stay solid lit .

An OEM flasher is made specifically to operate only 2 filaments on the front & rear of the vehicle. When you add a trailer, the current goes up by 50%, sometimes messing up the operation.
I believe you'll need to upgrade the flasher to an electronic type.

It usually does with the old steel strip style, I'm guessing yours is arcing together, or 2006 uses something different.

Turn signal flasher not available for 06 frontier not sure what they use.

? Put your signal on, listen for the clicking at the left side of the dash or under the hood. When you get close, put a finger on the small black cubes to feel which one it is, unplug it to see if it's 2 pin or 3, then get a generic electronic one.

Found the flasher(s) it has two one for the right and one for the left. They have many pins in them.

consult the nissan parts department. was the vehicle prewire for trailer lights, or did you do it. if prewired, they may have an adapter. toyota is usually prewire to a 7 prong. and have the convertion plug to 4 prong.

Ok, I see how that complicates things. I was unaware the offshore companies made a flash so technical.

One solution now, is add 2 small Bosch style relays at the car tail lights.
Supply a 12 v line to the contact, (30), take the switch (87) to the green trailer wire, ground one coil lead (85) and connect the other coil lead (86) to a car signal lead.
Repeat for the yellow trailer wire from the other car signal light.

The relay coil is 73Ω, compared to a trailer lamp of 2-3Ω.

OR, change the trailer lamps to LED's. 1157's (dim & bright, double pin) are $10-$12 a pair. besthongkong.com
