Trailer type question

I have a 10.5' inflatable that I just want to store on top of a trailer. I'm a complete novice and basically don't know what to look for. I'm wondering if there's a best kind of trailer I should look for. The inflatable can be a v-hull if I pump up the keel.

Originally, I was looking for a 12' boat trailer and stumbled across PWC trailers for like Jet Skis. The Jet ski trailer is much smaller but I'm not sure if it's the right kind of trailer to get. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Gee that is so small I don't recall seeing trailers that size. Look up similar manufacturers boats and see what they offer. or maybe get a utility trailer and lash it to that. Only problem there is you need another person to launch and retrieve the boat. You'd have to carry it on & off the trailer, but it would be nice to have a utility trailer!

Re: Trailer type question

Utility trailer did cross my mind, but I can't find one within my price range that will also hold my boat. Most utility trailers in my price range usually are only 4' long which doesn't do me much good. And the others that were designed for dinghys or boats are way out of the range of what I want to spend. So I guess I'm kinda stuck.

Re: Trailer type question

Go to a trailer shop, pick out a 4x8 or 5x8 foot flat utility trailer.
Tell the man the tongue needs to stick out 8 feet in front of the bed.
He should be able to get a longer tongue put on there for about $50

You will find countless uses for this trailer over the next 30 years.
I'm still using the one I bought in 1986.

Re: Trailer type question

Hi,

Just an update. I purchased a canoe and small jon boat type trailer. Yeah, it doesn't make sense but I figured that I could add bunks to it. So I did and it works perfectly. It required some in-house modifications but the frame was just barely right for me to be able to make the changes. I paid $330 for the trailer kit and taken it out on a 450 mile (round trip) fishing trip.
