I have a magic tilt trailer.... It says GVWR is 1125 and the shipping weight is 225. Whats the load I can put on the trailer.... 1125? or is it the 1125-225=900lbs?

I think I read somewhere it was the GVWR-weight of trailer(225).... Just wanted to ask here and check :) thanks.

Re: trailer weight question

GVWR is the max total weight - which would include the weight of the trailer so 900lbs would be your max load.

Re: trailer weight question

thanks a bunch oldjeep.

One last question... when looking up the weight of a boat less outboard and equipment as it says on the Iboats boat model search. That weight should include things like seats and whatever may have come with and in the boat at time of manufacture correct?

Can you go over the weight of trailer by just a little bit?

Theoretically the weight posted should include the weight of whatever is part of the boat from the factory. Going over the weight of the trailer isn't a good idea - they probabally build in some sort of fudge factor but you don't want stuff coming apart on the road.

Ya ... Im talking like a few pounds not hundreds... I may try to put together a BMT combo..if i can.. while getting as close to the 900 or under as possible.. but finding a 16-17 bowrider under that with motor.. will be very hard.

A 16ft bowrider with a motor for 900lbs? Very hard - I'd say impossible. The trailer you have sounds like it was made for an aluminum fishing boat.

Might want to just concentrate on finding the boat you want and deal with the trailer 2nd - you can always sell the little trailer you have now.

Ya i agree.. I had come across a bowrider that was cheaper without the trailer.. so I fig I would ask. Says the boat was 750lbs without extra gear. I was trying to guesstimate.. 750 for boat 150 for motor and viola... fairly close.

Ayuh,..... My guess is yer guesstimates are Low...
And,..
You should be spec'ing a trailer for atleast 10% More capability, rather than at or above it's capacity...

The info said 750 lbs....however i would guess most bowriders arent usually this light?

and well say a 90hp was a guesstimate at 150lbs? not sure

But I see what you mean... I should try to keep it under by 10%...for variances?

You're off by at least 125 to 150 # on the weight of the motor.
