I have an issue with my wiring on my trailer.I'm not very knowledgable on how to fix wiring and need some help please. The issue i'm having is the lights in the back i just replaced but they are doing the same as the last lights i had on there. When i turn the lights on they are bright and work well, the bad i can't seem to find out why the brake lights or the signal lights will work. The lights do nothing when i hit the brakes, they do nothing when i put the turn signal, brand new lights to.

I was told it probally is the ground.I have the ground wires of both lights behind the bolts and tightened down with a washer and nut,the actual ground wires for both are touching the trailer and the bolts at the same time,is this correct? If not what should i do?If it is correct what else could it be?
