My Trailer Wires broke. The Yellow and the Black. Bad part is they broke up in the tongue where you can barely reach them, I trying pulling them out some more but they didn't budge One bit. How do I get more wire to come out or how in the heck am I gonna get to them to splice them together???

Re: Trailer Wiring

Cut all the wires at the tongue. Tape some more wire on the cut end and pull it all backward out of the tongue to the point at which you can work with it. Make your new connections then pull it all back through the tongue and reconnect the pigtail.

Re: Trailer Wiring

If I am understanding this correctly you will need to pull them out the other way.....add some more wire and refish them through the trailer towards the tongue.

I personally don't like having splices in my wiring except at the lights or close to the plug so that I can inspect them if I have to....so in that situation I would rewire that half of the trailer all together......but you don't have to.

That is a much better way of explaining what I was trying say :)

Re: Trailer Wiring

They are cheap enough, just replace with a new harness.
Sounds like the old wires are all used up and ready to fail again.

Trailer harness should have white, yellow, green, and brown wires.

I didn't mention this because you asked specifically about splicing, but if it were my trailer I would go ahead and do this as well. Small investment of time and money that will save you additional headaches later.
