I have a 18 foot Lower fish n fun pontoon boat. The trailer seems alittle iffy, can't see anything wrong with it but it just seems like it sways too much or something, feelt he need to drive real slow and turn corners carefully and i don't think it should be like that...............any idea how to make it sturdier?

Need more info. Is it a bunk style or a scissors style trailer? Have you checked to be sure tire pressures are correct. Have you checked your hitch weight (should be 10 to 15% of total trailer weight)? More info will get you more answers.

I agree. Need more info. If it's a sissor type you may have to learn to live with it. Never pulled one but I've heard they can be a little tippy. Mine's a bunk and goes down the road just fine.

Tire pressure. Important. When I got my first boat I gassed up and checked tire pressure on the way home. 35 lbs? Thats what I put in my wifes car so that sounded reasonable to me. Some time later I found a plate on the trailer that said 50 psi cold. That boat and motor only weighted about 700 lbs. Now I've got a pontoon and motor that weigh over a ton and the tires take 90 psi cold. Make sure your tires have the right tire pressure.

As mentioned above, it is very important that you have the proper tire pressure and tongue weight.

I'll bet a cold six-pack he has a single axle centerlift-
I have one under my 20' bass buggy -
If so you'll learn to relax about the "swaying"
Its NOT going to turn over under any conditions close to "normal"
Be sure you have the best TRAILOR tires you can afford under it tho!
The only thing i really dislike about mine is backing it without my boat----
I cant see the long skinny thing from my mirrors
I do like that it sits lower, very eazy to get on & off on dry land - fits into tighter places - able to drop the boat on the ground & pull it out if you want to work on it ect

Sounds like a weight distribution issue. Can you load the boat closer to the front of the trailer, for more toungh weight????

I think you might need to check that both trailer tires are "trailer tires" and NOT car tires as there is a difference. You also need to make sure that both tires (if they are in fact trailer tires) are the exact same size, and tread design or they will fight each other. Look for the printed plate that recommends the correct tire size and pressure. You can usually find this plate some where around the tongue. You also should have a mechanic check the wheel bearing and axles just to be safe. Good luck and re-post how things turn out.
