I was thinking about getting the bow and cockpit cover for my boat, when buy it. Can you pull long distances with these snapped in place? The boat will have a wake board tower and that is all that I see that would go around the tower. Does any body have any ideas? If so please help.

Re: Trailering with covers

I trailered my boat with the snap-on factory Sunbrella bow and cockpit covers on the interstate once. About 2 hours into the trip I was waved over by another car. The back end of both covers had come unsnapped and they had shredded themselves flapping in the wind.

It depends(Grin)
Seriously I've towed thousand of miles and not had a problem. Need to make sure the covers are tight and check them often. Make sure the cover are made with heavy towing weight material and use poles that keep the covers tight at all times when towing.

I'd get a full cover that's intended for trailering. When I bought my boat the snap on covers were toast cause the guy that had the boat before towed with them on.

I bought a trailering cover and am glad I did- I don't have to worry about anything flying out and everything's protected from the sun.

Re: Trailering with covers

I have a bow rider that I have the snap covers that cover the bow and from the windshield back(basically the whole boat) and I take it to Canada twice a year for a 700 mile journey each way with them on. I have had one snap break off on all the times I have done this. If they are of good quality and in good shape you should not have a problem. Just check when you get gas. I do tow it behind a large motor home so most of the wind is off the boat however.
