I want to buy a pontoon in MN and I live in NJ. If I pay someone to trail it all the way to NJ will the trailer be shot by the time it gets to me? It cant be good for the trailer right?

See if you can find a trucker with a flatbed trailer to load and haul it home to you...backhauling for a fee beats running empty.

I trailer my boat 3 times that distance each year with out any problems. As long as the trailer is in good shape there shouldn't be any problems. Have them keep and eye on the bearings and tires etc.

First of all is how big a pontoon u bought, how old is the trailer and tires and what are u pulling it with. I have a 24 ft on a bunk 2005 trail rite duble axil trailer. Its a heavy boat even with 2 axils. Pull it with a 2000 6cyl jimmy with tow package. Before I did your question, I probably would grease and check wheel bearings and tires for dryrot. If the tires have cracks replace them. Buy and mount 2 spares and also a grease gun where you can regrease every time you gas. Be sure to lock your trailer on the hitch and saftey chain it to the car or truck.:) Good luck hope I don't see you on the side of rt 80

I have it on u-ship now, but all the bidders will be using my trailer.

Since it's new, it shouldn't be a problem towing. ( provided it's greased, adjusted correctly with correct air pressure).

I repack my bearing the beginning of the season and we do three seperate trip to Ontario Canada every year. 350 miles one way, total for the trips is about 2100 miles. Yours should be fine.
