Transducer Cable

Looking for suggestions on where to mount and run the transducer line on my 2203cc. I am looking at just to the side of the bilge plug but where/or how to run the wire after that?

im having the same issue right now. I bought a lowarance hds 7. The cable end is really big. I even filed down the ridges on it its still .820 thou. I have a hold drilled with a cover above my swim platform but its only .620 thou. Im really having a hard time dilling a 7/8ths hole in my hull.. I wouldnt run the wire below the water line. I would move it up about 6 or 8 inches above water line. No sense getting more water into the boat than needed. Yes i know you would epoxy it in or caulk it in. But no sense having another hole below the line. Overtons or i boats even has nice little covers to cover the wires and holes. Thats my opinion. If you going to search for them look up wire covers or thru hull wire covers or transducer wire covers something like that. Good luck!!

My issue is more of a hull issue the transom comes down to about the water line runs forward about 20 to 24" then drops down about another foot to where the drain plug is. Do i run the Line from the lowest point say next to the drain plug up and then down the center or up the side? I have nothing to secure the line to along it's route. I think my best bet is take it back to the dealer and have them do the install, which I hate doing because it is something I should be capable of doing.

oh thats right you have a outboard? IT has a set back transom. I see your problem. you dont want to mount the transducer right on the bottom by the plug hole. You need to move the transducer away from the prop wash. It should be about 2 feet to the right of the motor right on keel line. i wish i could draw you a picture. Make sure the transducer is level. Then take the cable up the outside. IF you could send me a picture of the back of your boat so i can really see what your talking about. This is very easy. No need to spend money for something so easy. Just need some more info and i will help all i can.

okay thanks for the pic now i can help. I see your drain plug...now go 8 inches to the right. Right on the same angle as he hull. mount the transducer bracket level run the cable. good to go.. ill see if i can get you a pic of mine. I have one but i gotta get it off my phone first.
