Ok it nay be to late to ask this however, yesterday I mounted my transducer for my elite 4 gps/sonar about 15 inches from the center of thr transom on the right side. My qustion is do you guys think it will work? I can't test it for another 3 days, when I did it I figured it would be fine but now my stomach is turning.

Thanks

Dave

Try to relax . . . did you follow any mounting instructions?

I'm guessing that 15 inches would be fine . . . you do not want the transducer directly behind a strake or other hull feature that causes turbulence.

I followed the instructions as best as I could. The problem was my speedo pick up was in the worse spot, I had to go to the insde of it because I had to save room for trim tabs that I'm installing next on the out side, and I had to move the transducer even closer because to the drive to clear thr trailer bunk

15" is darn close to spec and mounting it on the right side is correct. I have structure scan and a standard dual freq transducer. Structure scan is on the right side but the standard is on the left. It's usable but noisy with the main motor running. It's excellent when I run the bow mount trolling motor.
