Transducer in an alumin. Boat?

I took a Lowrance depth "flasher" out of my old Skeeter and intend to put it in my aluminium Bass Tracker. My Skeeter was a glass boat & transducer was mounted in the bilge area shooting thru the hull. Can I mount the transducer in the bilge of my Bass Tracker or do I have to mount it outside the hull, like on the transom? I would prefer inside the boat, but don't know if it will shoot thru aluminium.

Nope- won't work thru aluminium.
You've gotta mount it outside on the transom.

Question: As this is an older Lowrance System 2000 2330B flasher I will prob. have to fabricate a transducer bracket myself to mount outside the hull? Doubt if Lowrance would have anything like it now.

Yeah, just use some creativity. I once mounted a transducer using a long threaded rod with a hook on the end. Worked fine and didn't need permanant mounting screws.
