"Transducer Mounting Bracket"

I want to mount a transducer on a piece of maintenance-free, high-density polyethylene plate affixed to the transom of my aluminum boat (16' princecraft with 20hp yamaha). I do not want to drill holes in the transom. Does anyone have experience with mounting the plate to the transom by gluing it? Is this feasible? What type of glue would work best?

I'll be watching the responses to this question to. Have read that the poly material is a common type of plastic for this purpose but is VERY hard to glue.

Was contemplating using PVC instead of the poly materials.

On my aluminum boat the previous owner used the polyethylene block and simply glued it to the transon with some 5200. Been working great so far. If you purchase a block from cabelas or from Iboats I believe they come with stainless hardware tho.

I used 1/2" king starboard, two stainless bolts, and 4200. 5200 or 4200 should hold but make sure you let it cure. Takes days. For myself, I want the insurance of the hardware.
