My boat has a bullet shaped transducer mounted on a transom bracket. There is no manual showing how to attach the transducer. The "eye" of the transducer is at the rear of the bullet. Shouldn't the eye be pointing strainght down? The previous owner has it pointing straight back (parallel to the bottom of the boat). The bullet shape would seem to cut through the water better this way, but how can the eye "see" if it doesn't point down?
Stalker

Re: Transducer placement

I'm betting you have a humminbird or maybe an eagle/lowrance transducer... One I saw somewhere has a dimple at the back end of the transducer that looks like an "eye", but it's not an eye...

Sounds like it's probably installed correctly as is..
