transducer question

I bought a 1996 Larson I/O with a hull mounted transducer. I want to replace the entire unit and would like advice on removing the transducer. It does not have a whole cut into the hull but I don't want to damage the fiberglass when I remove it. The transducer sits in the engine compartment in front of the engine. it is securely glued to the hull. The reason for removing it is it is a humming bird and I can no longer read the screen. Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: transducer question

Exactly why I never use an in-hull TX. Cut the cable off and leave it there.
