Help! My transom mounted transducer broke just below the mounting point (the place where the bolt goes through the top of the transducer as it connects to the mounting bracket). I tried "super glue" but one trip and 35 MPH of water speed made super glue turn to silly putty. Next I tried 2-part epoxy. It set up well but again broke under pressure. Any good suggestions to reglue the top the the rest of the transducer so it will hold up to saltwater and 35-40 MPH of boat speed.

Re: Transducer Repair Help

Get on eBay and buy a new transducer and run it back to the unit. I replaced one on a Garmin unit about 2 years ago. I found it for $35.00. Not worth the hassel of gluing.

However, if you want to try one more, try JB Weld. I even think they make a marine version, but I'm not 100% on that.

Don't know the size transducer you are dealing with but I once repaired a wide eye by drilling small hole like .040 in on either side of the mounting bolt through hole and pinned it with stainless pins. Then plastic welded the seam of the crack, which is nothing more then melting the plastic together with a soldering gun. If that don't work epoxy the hell out of it and drill your own hole in the epoxy.

It's always more fun to try and fix things yourself, just make sure it's cheaper too!!
