I broke my transducer mounting leg.:facepalm:Not the metal bracket. The plastic leg molded on with the transducer.

Clean break. Did not compromise the transducer. Just now am questioning how to re-attach.

Would a two part epoxy work? Or is there other recommendations?

Thanks.

Re: Transducer Repair

Not sure what type of application you are using but i just removed mine off the back of the boat and used epoxy on the bottom of it as a thru hull. Worked awesome...had to increase sensitivity level and of course i lost my temp reading but didn't really use it anyhow.

Re: Transducer Repair

It's a skimmer transducer mounted on the bottom of my bow mount trolling motor.

Re: Transducer Repair

my transducer was a skimmer type also but in my manual it also showed how to mount it to as a in hull. Like i said...it works really well! I bought mine a ****'s Sporting goods for about 89-99$

Re: Transducer Repair

I would use the Versachem plastic welder epoxy comes in a black tube at Autozone.

Or
the PL Premium Polyurethane construction adhesive. With this you will have to goop it on thickly but not more than 3/8 inch at a time. Forms a waterproof hard rubber

I have soured on JB Weld, too many failures, too pricey for what you get. Might seem to stick then it will come apart later on. If you go with JB Weld, then sand it with coarse paper to help it stick.

The Versachem actually does a fusing of the plastic, it has potent solvents very stinky. Mix it very thoroughly.

Re: Transducer Repair

I went the JB Weld route last night. Coarse sanding too. It's baking, in my car, as we speak.

Didn't see the about until just now.

If the JB doesn't do the trick, I'll try the Versachem. Sounds like good stuff.

I'll post a couple repair pics, later on, if everyone wants.

Thanks for the tips.

Re: Transducer Repair

For what it's worth, here's how I repaired the transducer.

Clean, rough up, a little JB Weld

And all is good.

If you do this, make sure the outside is all that's broke. Mine is shot on the inside.

Getting a whole new locator today.
