I am replacing my gps and fishfinder. The new thru hull transducer is large and so is the one that is on the boat now. My question is the one that is on the boat has a spacer on it and it is cut on the angle of the hull to make it even in the water. The new one is not on this angle? do I have to cut this spacer to match the other?
Thanks
Bob

In the nut shell, yes. You'll need to cut the fairing block to match the shape of the hull

Re: Transducer Spacer?

is the spacer removable on the new one? Will it fit into the spacer of the existing one ? some pics would help....if not...a bevel square is really helpful in transfering angles...you can buy a cheap one at Home Depot or Sears or Lowes...plastic ones are fine...you'll love it once you own one if you like working on boats...ask about a contour guage when you are there...thats another great tool for boat work....
