i got this boat about 4 months ago and everthing on it works really well i was out at the lake a few weeks ago and the boat ran fine but when i pulled it out i noticed a crack right above the drain plug:'( and when i got it home it seemed to be three small cracks that was leaking brown water wich makes me think the wood in the transom is rotten. my question is what would be the easyest and cheapest way to fix it? excuse the pic i took it with my phone if you need 2 see more pics ill post em tomorrow

if you have that, there probably more, like the stringer ends. time to break out the grinder.

Steven,

Definately rotted wood, brown juice classic telltale. Like mentioned above, gotta check the stringers, some inspection holes in the deck are in order, Lots of posts here on fixing it.

Peace.

I just rebuilt the transom on my bassboat.

I did mine from the inside . Removed all the old rotten wood and replaced with marine plywood and reglassed .

I was lucky my stringers were ok .

After doing mine this way.

I would use seacast next time as it turned out , it would have been cheaper then the replacement I did.

You can go to there site they have alot of info .

And seem happy to help.

Good Luck,

OOOH:$ That is a nasty slop-job there. You definitely need to do that right. If you love the boat, roll up your sleeves (actually you'll want to roll them down, put on a respirator, goggles, and gloves) and get to grinding. There is some serious damage there. Nothing that isn't fixable though, that is the beauty of fiberglass, you can fix it.
