Hi everyone.
I got stott craft 1986 14ft bass boat.
The transom was rotten so I try my first transom rebuilt.
So far everything solid but I’m stock at finish line.
All the gaps in the picture is filled.
My problem is when I put the outside layer back I have a gap between the outside layer and the transom itself the little wood on the bottom was sanded so it’s flat wall.
Just trying to think what best way to fill up gaps?
It’s approximately 1/4 gap to 2/4 on top and as you go down it’s coming to 0 gap.

looks like the new wood was never compressed against the existing glass transom. Thats a heck of a gap there with that 2" shim shoved in there.
Appears that most of the sides are like that.
Well its kina structural to support the outboard.
Bam... rip it out and redo. Secure with a better clamping system

i compressed it to the inner and already fix the gaps between the wood.
Wood is water seal with west system epoxy and fiberglass.
I gonna get a better picture to explain my dilemma to how to fill the gaps I’m talking about

Going from the outside made your job harder

On the last two photos you can see the gap from bottom going up and getting bigger so I’m wondering if fiberglass it until it’s thick enough?
Or do epoxy with 406 and some fiberglass broke into it and paste
