I have a 16' alumacraft that I resently had to put a used motor on and have found that the motor is about 6" longer than the one that came with the boat. The new motor runs very well and I like the extra power it has compaired to the old one.
I have two questions. 1st can The new motor be safely raised on the transom? 2nd what would be the best and least expensive way to raise it?
I went from a 25 hp to a 30 hp.

To keep it very basic a couple of aluminum angle irons and about 1 1/2 inches of plywood
attached to the transom. If you did it right you could also make it like a jack plate so
you could fine tune the height. You could search here and on the net for key words like do it yourself jack plate how to raise the transom
