Transom Hole Repair ?

I found out today that the mount holes for my Suzuki will not match up to the Yamaha. Anybody know a QUICK way to permanently repair the old mount holes in the transom?

I have already put hardwood dowling in them and epoxied them in but I still have the "donuts" around them to repair. I can't do it later after the new motor is mounted so...it's got to be done now.

...and right in the middle of a great Salmon season too :(

Thanks,
Terry B.

The proper way is to glass them in...but I suspect you don't have time for that. 3M 5200 sealant will seal the holes permanently but it won't be pretty or as strong as the original transom. If you can't see them I would goop em up with 5200 and forget about it, it is amazing stuff.

You can always do them properly in the winter if you can see them, for now the 5200 will seal the transom from water intrusion.

They make a 2 part marine epoxy that works real good, I got mine at Bi Mart.

Its a 2 part marine epoxy, great for filling holes. I filled the holes where I removed some bolts, sanded and painted and you can't see where the holes were. It comes in two small cans.
