I have a 1989 Four Winns Horizon 180. I know the seal around the transom is leaking, but not really bad. Anyone who owns one of these boats knows what a pain it is to work on the engine as to the tight space it's in. I have asked different repair shops about replacing the seal. Their response is that the engine has to be pulled in order to replace it. Is that true, I could understand if it is. Here's the thing, they're saying it's about $800.00 to pull the engine to replace a $6.00 seal. What I have been doing is getting marine silicone and going around the outside housing. I redo this every year. I figure that I can buy alot of sealant for $800.00 to $1000.00.
