'84 Mercruiser 5.7 898 on a 19'Chris Craft...
Hey guys, I'm trying to tighten the transom bolts (I think thats what there called) because I can see the gap between the transom and the plate that surrounds the gimbal housing that is supposed to sit flush with the transom. It's loose and when I fill the bilge up from the inside, water pours out but when I push from the back of the housing, it stops. My question is, "what is the easiest way to tighten these bolts?" They have to be tightened from the inside and I see no way of getting to them. Special tool? I can get a wrench on there barely with my pinky but no way to torque it.

Well,...........

After you pull the Drive,+ then the Engine,+ the Transom Assembley to Replace your Rotten Transom........... :(

Once you've got everything going back together,....
The Transom Assembley is the 1st Piece to be Reinstalled,......
The Transom Assembley Studs,+ Nuts are Tightened Then,..... Before the Engine Reinstall.................

That Boat Ain't going No Where....... She's Junk at this Point...............
