transom plate

i am installing a 3.7 mercruiser in my boat this weekend i am removing the 3.0 , i see that the transome plate looks to be a different size. i have the transome plate for the 3.7 and i am wondering if the mounting holes are the same on both. also i should add that the boat once had a 3.7 at one time because i can see the 4 s s lag bolts are there in the exact pattern of the old 3.7 motor mount. thanks in advance

If its not too late, my boat originally had a pre alpha with a 351 and I put in a 2008 4.3 with a 1st gen alpha. The inner plate from a 4.3 bravo bolted right up to the pre alpha transom
