Many of us have used Arauco plywood (available at many big-box home improvement stores). It's very good -- more plies than standard exterior plywood, few voids, water-resistant glue. It's much less expensive than marine plywood. I used it for my transom and deck, and it's really good plywood.

I used the Arauco in lieu of marine. I'm cheap and with protective coating, it works as well as marine.

Or Menards has these.

I will be using the 1st one listed to redeck mine.
Then again if you are going to encapsulate it in resin then any BCX should work also.
I will also add that during my research I found that certain species of wood that are used to make plywood actually absorb the resin better than others. Now I just wish I had made a note of that or at least saved the website.

I have a couple weeks now before I'll need it so Iam sure I will find some around here. I still have more to cut out.I was gona get piece it into the transom but I decided to remove my alum. Deck and trawling boom so I can cut some of the top cap off and get full sheets in there. I'll try to post some pics.

ACX is a good choice, just make sure it is well encapsulated.

Phil the Arauco is great stuff. ACX exterior grade plywood that the big stores carry is very good too. It's half the money of Marine grade and just as good for a transom. ACX has one side grade A, and one side grade C, and the x is for exterior grade, or water proof glue.

Also I am not seeing your pictures. If you created a photobucket account, you can open a picture and on the right side there is a IMG box. Double left click in the box and you will see it blink with the word copied appears. At that point the photo is copied to the mouse pointer. Go back and open your Iboats page and place the pointer where you want the photo to go, and right click the mouse, and choose paste and left click and a bunch of words and number will appear. when you Post the reply to iboats the photo should show up. Try it out! Good Luck!

Just curious what type of machine you use? Desktop, Laptop, Ipad, Phone? I don't know if it makes a difference or not.

In my photobucket account, I have the pics enlarged to the same size that they show up on here, click on the 'paper clip' icon at the top above the pic, a 'share the photo' box pops up with a bunch of choices, click on what's in the bottom one marked IMG code, (URL=http blah blah blah.....) and that copies the pic, then paste it where you want it. - Caution, these instructions have been given by a computer illiterate guy, use at your own risk. Good luck.
