I will be replacing my transom on my 1994 Nitro 2000DC bass boat in two weeks. Was curious if anyone has opinions or suggestions on either using Seacast or "Keay Enterprises" transomrepairkit.com

Thanks!

First time I personally have seen or heard of the Keay Enterprises product. It looks interesting and seems to be priced right. I'd recommend you do more research and inquiry and ask for a lot of references and then do the follow ups. Seacast is a proven product but is pricey!!!

I have never heard of that "Keay" industries product, I would as Wood says, do a lot of research before purchase, it seems to be reasonably priced, but I would want to talk with folks that had actually used the product to see how they like it. For my money, I normally stick to the tried and true method which is building a new wood transom, less expensive and I know exactly what to expect if I do it correctly.

Interesting stuff ... Now real sure about leaving wood in there though ... If the wood was rotting that means it's wet ... If any moist wood left in there it would just keep rotting ... Not quite sure on the pricing . 2 gal kit 333 bucks but I think it yields 10 gals ? There was a video of them using it on a deck also .. Hmmm You can paint it on to expand to a a half or 3/4 " Expands 5 times the amount ..

Just posted a response to a similar thread. I am NOT a seasoned boat repair person and, while Seacast is pricey, their customer support is outstanding. The product has been around for years. These new guys may have a winner on their hands but I went with the proven solution. Good luck whatever path you choose.
