Hi I am new to iboats and have been using the resto section for info for my transom repair as this is the first repair job I have attempted. I have found some great info so I have signed up to show some picture. One tip was how to start "get the angle grinder out and go for it" .The boat is a 1975 Condor sundance I have had it for 16 years and have had a great time fishing and skiing before retiring it for last 10 years. Last summer I decided if the motor starts, a Chrysler 105 I will repair that rotten transom and it ran great. So here are some pics.First a before pics

I remove the deck just past the well.Made a huge chisle and away I went.

[Made a pattern and cut out the new transom

Fit and glass back in with lots of clamps.

Re: Transom repair

For the pictures it looks like the tabbing does not go very far onto the hull at the bottom. It should go about 6 inches out.I might be missing it. Also you need to grind all paint off (the red) before putting glass on it, or it will not stick.

The tabbing does look that way as the photo was taken before it went off but it does go under further and now I have take your advice thanks.
The flowcoat I used is a non air inhibited polyester coating which i applied to the hull.I mix a red pigmet for the transom. The red is not paint.
When i fit the splash well you wont see the back.
