Hello all,

I need to replace the transom on my 16' v-hull thompson, it is currently 1-1/2 inches thick and am confused whether I should use 1/4", 1/2", or 3/4" plywood. Will more layers of 1/4" be suitable, or will 2 layers of 3/4" be just fine? Also, should I by fir marine ply or just BC Sanded from Home Deopt? I was also confused on what I should do between the layers, plain epoxy or thickened epoxy?

Thanks

Re: Transom Replacement Help

Thanks for the help!, I am going to start on the transom as soon as I get it out of the water for the season.

I will post some pics. There are pictures of my two restoration projects that I've been working on for the past two winters.

Hope you guys check em out, I would like some feedback, maybe some tips for the cockpit of my cruiser.

I'm also in need of a compass for the helm of the cruiser, and a set of trim tabs for the 16' Thompson.

Thanks Again!
