Re: transom replacement in fiberglass
it wasn't to bad but you won't like the procedure

The worst part is at the transom were the splash-well is joined to the top half. The outer layers of glass are joined pretty firmly to the transom, I had to remove the top lip (an angle grinder worked great and I was able to reuse the top piece to minimize the the joint profile) of the fiber glass then use a large chisle and pry bar to gently pop the fiberglass from the rotton transom. Then the rest of the top will be dependent on the shape of your floor, mine was completely rotten so I just cut it out leaving a 2 inch lip around the consoles and front and rear decks, remove the rub rail and about 150 screws holding the top to the bottom and gently split it apart, if your floor is being removed make sure you support the hull or it will deform on you.

I would check the stringers and floor real close, the way AstroGlass assembled the floor and stringers created a couple of channels that allowed water to follow the stringers straight to the transom, with no way for it to drain. I thought my stringers were fine until I took the top off, then I could see the damage.
