transom saver options?

I didn't like how much my motor bounces around while trailering. Just know that it's brutal to the transom. I bought a transom saver, only to realize that my trailer does NOT have a rear cross bar. So I have nothing to attach it to.

I would really like to secure the motor without having to use rope!

Options?
Thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: transom saver options?

I made a "transom saver" out of wood about 40 years ago, another product I never profited from. The wood blocks are better than nothing, but they don't take any pressure off the transom and only a small amount off the engine parts. Its hard to say without seeing your trailer, but the best way would be to add a crossmember from galvanized or aluminum, square or rectangular tubing. Angle would work also, but the tubing is a lot stiffer.
