Just received a new water hose (Item #4 in the attached) I ordered from Iboats and its not the same orientation as the original. I don't see how this one would work as it has a bend at the end that connects to the transom shield. Anyone have any insight as to whats up with this?
Thanks

how does it compare to the real hose on your boat and not the sketch made by an intern in the volvo-penta illustration.

It’s longer and has a bend at the end that goes to the transom shield. I don’t see how it will work. Will post a pic in a bit.

Here’s a pic of the new and original... I guess I could cut the new one to where I need it?

If they are the same shape and diameter, which they do appear to be in the side by side pic, I would just cut the new one to duplicate the original. It might be a common part that is designed to fit several different models of drives, a cost savings decision.

Yep that's what I think I'm gonna do. I looked at all the diagrams for model variations of the SX-M drive and they all appear to have that same hose configuration...

There are 2 different hoses - one is a larger diameter and different shape and length. The nipple on the transom mount is in a different location and different diameter between the "old and new" design. I have absolutely no idea what denotes the old and new design - no date or serno information.

However - in the pic of the hoses, mine is the bottom hose, which I can get the Vovlo part number for - just don't have it in front of me at the moment if you need it.

Yes part # please. the diameters of both hoses appear to be the same except for each end is flared.

3852352 should be the part number of the hose. Sorry for taking so long to post, left the tag off the hose on the boat, which was a state away.

Thanks! Next question... I also bought the plastic nipple part which I’ve just found out is too big to fit into the bell housing. Does anyone have the correct part number for the plastic nipple that fits the SX-M? Annoying that the parts diagrams for this drive are wrong.

3852533 would be for 1" diameter hose. Other choice would be 1 1/4".

Thanks. Not so much concerned about the hose end of the nipple... More concerned that the part listed for the SX-M is too big to fit through the bell housing. Looks like the parts for the SX-C should work and that would be the 3852533 but won't be sure until I receive. Again, incredibly annoying that their showing the wrong parts.
