HI All

I am still plugging away at my restore and enjoying it !

I was wondering what your thoughts were in regards to which type of set up puts more stress on the transom

I/O or Outboard ?

Thank you

Re: Transom stress Question

Thanks for the reply

I remember seeing a discussion on here about that and could not find it !

The reason I am asking is that I have a total of 3 layups on my new transom and it seems to be pretty strong but I am worried that once I get the engine back in it will crack.

I also have kept the original glass shells for the mounts that I hollowed out the rotten wood and cleaned, refilled with wood and glassed in with 3 layups again and was wondering if I should do another one or am I good to go ?

Re: Transom stress Question

I would use how it was originally built as a guide and then do a little extra. Then you should be good to go.

Have a great day,

Rob.
