This weekend while camping I was standing at the entrance to the camp site (waiting for 6PM saturday for them to bust open an electric site. Army Corps rules and all) 
<br /><br />A truck pulling a boat came through, and I noticed the motor was in the back. As in, tossed into the back of the boat. The transom was dark brown and rotted out, and it looked like they lost the motor. <br /><br />Talking to them later (the owner was in his tent, trying to cool off, or something) they said they'd been out, they trailered up for the day, and the motor started dragging because the transom failed.<br /><br />They pulled the motor off, and tossed it in, so as not to lose it on the highway.<br /><br />I felt for them, since I went through that (but not as severe) with my first boat..
