Ok i am looking at a 79 baja boat 18ft with a 150hp johnson but at the top edge of the transom it looks like a crack in the fiberglass under the metal trim should i worry with this or how can i find out if there is damange that needs more attetion than just alittle epoxy

I just looked at a "78 Mako and had the same ?
Fiberglass guy told me to put some weight (me) on the OB motor when trimmed up to simulate the force of the motor propelling the boat and look for the transom flexing . It did and I passed on the buy. More work than I wanted to get into right now. Also, look for the motor mounting bolts "sinking" into the fiberglass on the inside of the transom as an indicater of the transom integrity.
