Tri-toons???

Can anyone tell me why...what the differnce is....advantages or disadvantages are of ...on a tri-toon some of them have the center tube extending further out in front than the side tubes and, on some their all the same in the front. Why the difference?

My guess is looks and perhaps a bit of extra flotation. Maybe a throwback look to a v-hull. Mine are flush in the front while my neighbor has his middle tube about a foot passed the side units.

I wodul say for looks, can't think of any real advantage to doing that, it is probably only 4''-6'' so it can't make any difference perfomance wise.
