Is there a trick to the bondo tack cloth? I ve tried leaving it open for a couple days and that doesnt help, it seems to always leave residue... I kinda need it as im painting stamped letters on my control box... Ive read other internet stuff that says it should not leave a residue, is there a trick to this stuff? Thanks...

When new, a tack cloth is 'extra-sticky', so when using a new one wipe very gently for the first few minutes. Sometimes I'll run a new one over a piece of 1x lumber until it gets right. Once it's conditioned it'll work nicely with regular hand pressure.

Yes don't use one! Hate the residue, hate the sticky hand's.Just rub with your hand as your blowing off with your air nozzle.

But I did just as you said and went to town on a scrap piece of 2x , hehehe, worked great after that... But ill tell u what I was mad  after the first go round.... Lol... Learn somthin every day here :D unfortunately patience is not a read thing, its learn-ed....
