I need information on how to align the trigger magnet for the timer base

When you turn the flywheel upside down on the bench and look at it closely is there a little white mark on the flywheel next to where the timing ring goes ? Also is there a little half moon notch cut into the timing ring itself ?

Yes I have the little white mark and I have the half moon on the magnet ring. Is the half moon suppose to be facing the TDC or 180 degrees of TDC.

Thanks Chad

Re: Trigger Magnet and Alignment Need Help

The little white mark was put in the flywheel when it was manufactured. This has to line up with half moon notch. What I would recommend you doing is clean up both the ID of the the magnet and the OD of the flywheel where it goes. Then go to a BRP dlr and get a flywheel magnet adhesive kit and put them back together .Part # 431929. When installing make sure the white mark and half moon line up. After lettting epoxy set up , re-install flywheel and check WOT timing. . Hope this helps. One other thing , Make sure the half moon on the ring is facing UP when the flywheel is installed. Has to go right next to the white mark.
