i took my 9.8 tohatsu out with my gps. got 18.2 mph with just me, 10 mph with 2 people. my question, where do i start adjusting trim to maybe gain a top end increase with 2 people, bring the motor towards the boat or away from the boat. ihave the battery forward. tried it with both of us in the back. thanks

Re: trim adjust

There's no way to tell with so little info to work with, you didn't even say what type or size of boat it is. Depending on the boat and size of people, that may be all you can get out of it with the current prop and even with a prop change it may not help much.

Go both ways on the trim and see what happens, it only take a minute to change it.

Re: trim adjust

With a fixxed trim any seting is a compromise, it will work well at only one speed but for top end i would try trimming it out more(away from the boat)

Keep in mind though a 14' boat with a 10 horse isn't a power house so it will only go so fast no matter what you do.

Run for a while., move it up run for a while, you may get an improvemnet or that may be it.
