97 Johnson 90 HP.
The trim does not work and the engine don't start when I turn the key.
I changed the battery, I put new (good) cables and new battery connection system and it still does not work. I just hear a clicking noise in one of the trim relays.
Is it possible that a trim relay problem could affect the motor start.
I thank you in advance for your help
Bye

Re: Trim and motor don't start

Do you get a solenoid click when you try to start, JMLG?

I see 2 possibilities: Blown fuse or poor power connections.

Your Repair Manual will show you where to look for the fuse. It will be 20 to 40 amps.

Take off and clean all power cables, with particular attention to where the battery ground cable connects to the engine block.

Let us know what results you get and some more info on your symptoms if you haven't gotten her working.

Good luck. :)

Re: Trim and motor don't start

Thank you very much for your advice
I went to the boat today and I bypassed the kill switch which brought the trim back to correct working. So it means I had, as you mentioned, poor connecions somewhere.
The problem is now a little different because when I try to start I instantly kill my 20A fuse. So I am a bit disappointed but I trust you to help fixing my problem
Thank you very much
