have a 1998 Regal 2100 LSR with a 5.0LPBYC Volvo Penta engine in it. I was doing a little maintenance on the boat, just replacing air intake hoses. Then when we got to the water the trim and tilt would not work. It is getting ZERO power. We rechecked the battery connections. Made sure the Hydraulic fluid was filled in it. Made sure the circuit breaker on the pump was popped. Even made sure the fuse in the throttle handle was good. Today i also bypassed the pump and connected the battery to the hydraulic pump lines (green, blue wires). I get a clicking sound at the hydraulic pump but no movement.

I had a similar issue with my boat earlier this summer, albeit a Mercruiser. I got only a click when trying to move the outdrive up and down via the trim buttons or jumping directly from the battery.
It turned out that the electric motor portion of the trim pump assembly had gone bad. Once I replaced the electric motor, everything has run great since.

Found the issue, sorry for the really late post. It was just a bad circuit breaker. Luckily it was a 25 dollar fix. Glad it was something that simple. Thanks for the ideas and help.

I had a circuit breaker that operated my tilt function. First to determine that i bypassed the breaker for the tilt/trim function and it worked. The only issue was getting to the circuit breaker. It was a pain but when i got to it and started to remove it. The leads crumbled in my had. Had tons of corrosion. A good 12 volt test also helps. Do you have a similar engine??
