I searched through all the old messages regaurding filling the Trim and Tilt resivoir, but none of them really mentioned how much you can put it and not much about overfilling. On my system the screw to fill is located on top of a tube that is about 4" long that goes into what looks a lot like a resivoir. The resivoir is not transparent. Should I fill to the top of the tube or will I be overfilling it? I know that I will have to cycle the motor up and down and all that jazz I am just unsure about how much to put in.

Thanks

Dan

Re: Trim and Tilt Oil

I have a 1980 200hp johnson, when I filled the tilt/trim fluid, after lifting up and down filling after each, my manual says that when you take out the fill screw, the fluid should be seen on the first two threads of the screw to be properly filled, but that's just my engine, hope it helps
