So I removed the out drive from my Mercrusier alpha one to clean and repaint, and after a week the trim cylinders are not aligned any longer...how can I align them so I wont have an issue when I put the overdrive back on?

Thanks in advance for your help

I guess you're saying one is longer than the other?

Run the shaft through one on them into the outdrive and push or lift until the other one lines up.

thanks for the response...visually it doesn't seem like that will work...one is about 3/4" off compared to the other...I don't think it was like that when IO removed the outdrive..I was trying to avoid getting the outdrive back in place and not being able to line up the holes.

install the long one and push down on the drive, that should help the short one grow a bit. If that fails ,use the trim/trailer button
