Does anyone know the specs on MR and Alpha 1 hydraulic trim cylinders and pumps. i.e how many pounds of pressure and pounds they will lift?

Ayuh,.... Dependin' on which pump, yer talkin' 'bout 1000 psi...

'n the trim cylinders are either a 1" bore, or 1, 1/4" bore,....

So,... do the math...

Re: trim cylinder lift capability

Service manual specs are for an UP pressure of between 2200 and 2600 psi. Based on a 1-1/4" piston (and taking the average pressure), that would give an upwards travel force of 11,782 lbs. If the rams are the smaller ones (1"), the force will be 7,540 lbs....

Curious, why are you asking?

I am curious also. They have the capability of lifting the drive under load. What more would you need?

Re: trim cylinder lift capability

Thanks for your answers and sorry I have not been back on here for awhile. I had problems removing an out-drive and used a board between the transom and the drive/cylinders to get it loose. It was really stuck. (problems fixed) I am the curious type plus I don't like to force anything. So I was curious and a little worried about the force applied, and too old and too dumb to do the math. Thanks

i've seen people use the trim cylinders to break the outdrive free, you wouldn't be the first.
