Trim engine problems!

Hey,

My trim up/down-function stopped working yesterday. Darn,,, I stopped my engine when i discovered it, and the only thing happening when i pressed "up" or "down" was click-sounds from the trim motor (i guess it was that?).
I checked the fuse. it was ok. But after checking it, it also stopped clicking. No sounds. no nothing. Fuse was stille ok, though.

Is my trim engine dead? Has something shorted?

Hope someone can give me some advice...
thanks

Re: Trim engine problems!

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me this weekend.First you probably burnt up the solenoids trying to get the trim working, so go buy new ones, Then try tapping on the trim motor a little. See if that works. if it Does that means your motor is going bad. if that doesn't work try to hard wire the motor to your battery. You shoud have black(ground) blue/green(up or down pos.) comming from your motor. Connect the black to ground, then touch EITHER the blue OR green directly to your battery. If it still doesn't work then your motor is shot. Process of illimination. Work your way down the system till you find a part that if defective.

If you tell us what drive and year you have the correct trouble shooting tests can be provided
