Trim fluid for '79 150 evinrude

I have a 79 150 evinrude that is low on trim fluid. I have read several threads online with mixed opinions. Some say use trim fluid and others say ATF. I am just testing all systems right now. I was just curious what everyone recommends.

I used trim fluid from Walley World but the stuff looks and feels like plain ole ATF so I guess it's your call.

Thanks. I have a couple quarts of ATF laying around so I will use that to check the operation.

Make sure it's Dextron II.
