Trim Fluid which to use ???

Hi Please help I have a 1990 glassport 4.3 liter mercruiser/ alpha one /power trim XD oildyne trim pump. I went to west marine to buy trim fluid and he hands me a bottle of Sea Star Hynautic Steering fluid and said this will work. Im not to sure about it so I am asking for some help. Now on the back of the bottle it says its hydralic steering fluid. Really my question is would this fluid work for the power trim system or not??? Please someone Help. Thank you in advance.:%

It would work, but it would be much more expensive than the automatic transmission fluid that is recommended in most marine manuals. It can be purchased at any automotive store, or even a grocery store.

Thank you very much. I was worried about it destroying the o-rings and pump if it wasnt the correct fluid.8)

My OB recent Merc manual says QSlver fluid or ATF.
