Trim gage help

Anyone have any troubleshooting advice for a trim gage stuck in the up position? I have a Merc cruiser outdrive.

Known: 12 volts to the back of gage.

Check the trim sender loacted on the starboard side of the outdrive. Sometimes those things get corroded and need to be worked with some lubricant or the wires may have corroded (like mine) and have to be rewired.

Thats what I thought. I will have to pull the switch.
