I have a '93 Sprint bass boat with a '93 Johnson 88 SPL that has a gauge setup that includes Tach, Speedometer, waterpressure, and voltage. I would like to install a trim gauge to round out the package. Would my motor have the sender unit already built in or will I have to get one and install it? If it is already there, will it have the same wiring harness color scheme that I have seen in other posts on this subject, ie, purple, black and white or will I need to look for other wires? Is there anything I should know about that I might not be expecting?

Jocko....tilt the engine all the way up and look at the port transom bracket. On the inside, if it is there, will be a rocker switch with a long arm on it. This is the trim sender. There would be two black wires coming from it. These would go to the trim gauge.

I went out and checked just now. No such animal under my motor. How much do they sell for? I know I can get a gauge for cheap from Cabelas or Bass Pro, but I suppose I will have to go to a dealer or repair shop for the sender.

Thanks for the info. Any additional info will be greatly appreciated.
