Trim gauge not working

Hello all,
On the water today and my trim gauge stopped working. needle is always on trim up (max).
Mercury 150 EFI 1999. Can anyone point me to where the connections are on the merc so that I can clean and inspect. I've looked but not sure of what I am seeing. (brown/white stripe???)

Post your questions in the mercury outboard repair forum, certainly there are people there who will be able to give you knowledgeable answers.

My guess (and this is coming from someone who owns OMC outboards) is that you should check the trim sender. In my experience they seem to be the weak link in that system.

Wasn't sure if this was a gauge question or a merc question so it landed here in "general." Trim sender, round celonoid looking thing on the motor near trim rams?

I could tell you what an OMC trim sender looks like, but when it comes to Merc it would just be a guess. Introduce yourself to the Merc repair forum and ask the same question there.
