Just replaced all my gauges on my 90 Cobalt Condurre. I have 454 mercruiser and a bravo 3 drive... Can someone please just explain to me how to adjust my trim gauge. Where should it be reading when the drive is all the way in? And when i trim to the best height for speed where should it be reading? As of now it reads all the way to the right (up) when the drive is all the way in. When i trim to the best and smoothest spot while underway it reads about 3/4. It only moves 1/4 of the entire gauge from all the way down/in to the highest spot for optimal speed. Doesnt seem right to me???? Ill attach a pic of the gauge as well.. Also, isnt this backwards? Shouldnt it be on the down side when the drive is all the way in, then move towards up as i trim? Mines moving from up to down as I trim out. Help Please!!!

Re: Trim gauge question...

There is a "Trim Sender" on the outdrive 'gimbal ring' . . . the opposite side has a 'Trim Limit'. You loosen the screws a bit on the 'Sender' and adjust accordingly so that your gauge reads better.

When the outdrive is fully lowered . . . the gauge should be all the way to "DN". when the outdrive is in the full up trailer position, the gauge should read all the way to "UP".
